You may only have three google ads boxes on your site. It is a google restriction. Any google ads boxes after the first three will not show up. This is why you do not see google ads in your sidebar on the front page.

Thanks Hugo. I should have thought of that but Google was allowing more when I was using the cutline split format. ie sidebars left and right of text.
