Off to Bangkok
I’ve been tied up this week with assisting my son in his acceptance of an offer for a Graduate Diploma of Education, and in his enrolment, followed by going out to the airport to see him and his girlfriend get on a plane to Thailand. More awkwardness with her Greek parents. Tension and anxiety, with me playing teacher again trying to organise everyone. But had I not, they would all still be sitting in Hungry Jacks (yuk) still chatting.
I really don’t see how some people can be so laid back, but it was my son telling me in the end that he just wanted to go through those international doors, that we got going. He has travelled overseas many times with us, so he knew the time it took to get through security and to board. This was her first time overseas and her parents have never been overseas from Australia.
So, an email from them already, telling me what I knew already that Bangkok was a shit heap. They are going to see some monkeys tomorrow.
Tennis has been taking up time too. I live in Melbourne where the Australian Open is played. I don’t go anymore because the heat is too much to take. It has been over 41 celcius for 2 days in a row and it will be up to those temperatures next week too. They have brought in a heat rule now, because so many of the players drop out from heat exhaustion. If it gets over 35, I think the game stops. For 2 of the courts though the roof can be closed.

41′C , that is what are summers are like here. What are your winters like? What is the Australian immigration policy, maybe I’ll have to choose there for my retirement.

There is a limit on how many immigrants can come and they usually have to have skills required here.
Winter couldn’t be as cold as in Canada. Day time is around 12 celcius. In the country it gets down to 0 degrees.
