• About
  • I’m a baby boomer and was born in Melbourne, Australia to a professional father and home duties mum. They were members of the Communist Party of Australia. They did work for aborigines and International peace. My father was a president of the Aboriginal Advancement League, which seems strange now, a white man being in that position. I used to go to conferences of this organisation with him so I got to know about the conditions of the indigenous peoples of Australia fairly well. I did not ever join this party. But all of my parents’ friends were in it. Conversations were always political. So I was a Marxist at an early age and that has never changed. I am better read in the field now. But after joining a variety of political groups I found that all were sects and behaved in a sectarian manner. Australia does not have much of a revolutionary history. I mean some people put up Ned Kelly as a revolutionary for goodness sake and support the Eureka Stockade which was really only about gold diggers trying to get better rights. I became a very strong unionist in my job, which was that of a teacher. I was proponent of feminism and worked in Women’s refuges. But I’m not doing too much fighting anymore. I’m getting tired of it. So I thought I could write about it instead. I use copyright information as well as my own limited vocabulary.
